Friend-of-the-Court Brief in the Twelfth Judicial Disctrict Court of Appeals in Warren County, Ohio.

Case: Ohio v. Carswell

Friday, June 10, 2005
|

This brief charges that Ohio's antigay constitutional amendment should have no impact on the state's domestic violence law. Further, it states that all other rights and respect outside of marriage continue to be legal to all Ohio citizens, therefore same-sex couples are not exempt from the protections and possible punishments from the state's domestic violence law. This law was designed to protect citizens from violence regardless of their marital status and sexual preference and should apply in this case.
