National, State and Local LGBT Organizations Oppose Confirmation of William Barr

On behalf of Lambda Legal and the 32 undersigned national, state and local organizations serving the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community and individuals living with HIV, we write to oppose the nomination of William Barr to serve as Attorney General at the U.S. Department of Justice (“Justice Department” or “DOJ”). Given the intense polarization of our national politics at present, respected and principled leadership is needed urgently to ensure public confidence in the Justice Department and to protect the civil rights of our most vulnerable populations.
