Lambda Legal client Drew Adams is a 16 year-old rising junior honors' student at Nease High School in Ponte Vedra, Florida. He is transgender, and has been living as the boy that he is since 2015. When he was a freshman, Drew was using the boys' restroom with no incidents. But after someone anonymously reported he was using the boys’ restroom, he was told he could only use the gender neutral restrooms, which separates him from his peers and treats him as unfit to share communal facilities with others.
Lambda Legal clients Juliet Evancho, Elissa Ridenour and A.S. are transgender students in the Pine-Richland School District in suburban Pittsburgh. Until the beginning of their senior year, their school allowed them to use the restrooms that matched their gender identity. They did so for years and without incident.
Case on behalf of a student who was denied access to the male restroom at his Virginia high school because he is transgender.
