Federal courts matter to the LGBT community. Federal judges across the country decide cases that affect the most important aspects of our lives—health care, immigration, employment discrimination and marriage equality.

Recently, federal appellate courts declared both California's Proposition 8 and the so-called Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) unconstitutional. This month, the Department of Justice asked the Supreme Court to hear two challenges to DOMA, including Lambda Legal’s case Golinski v U.S. Office of Personnel Management. These high profile cases have made one thing abundantly clear:

If you care about equality, you should care about the courts!

As community leaders and LBGT advocates, we must change the political dynamic that is compromising our access to justice and ensure that our nation’s courtrooms have a full complement of well-qualified and diverse judges on the bench.

Please join Lambda Legal and the Center for American Progress for a national strategy call for immediate action to protect our federal courts!

Monday, July 16, at 2 p.m. ET
