New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg has proclaimed May 6, 2013,  Lambda Legal Day, in honor of the organization’s 40th anniversary, which will be celebrated at its annual gala that evening.

“Because New York City is our founding city and is the home of our headquarters office, we are honored to be recognized by Mayor Bloomberg and the City of New York,” said Kevin Cathcart, Executive Director of Lambda Legal. “It all started for us right here in New York City and we’re excited to celebrate our 40th anniversary at Chelsea Piers on Monday.”

Lambda Legal will host the 27th Annual Liberty Awards National Dinner on Monday, May 6, 2013, at Chelsea Piers. The Liberty Awards is an annual gala that recognizes the commitment and dedication of Lambda Legal’s Liberty Circle members as well as those who are making a positive impact in the LGBT community.
