SUMMARY

The Digital Director will define the strategy for how Lambda Legal’s digital presence drives the organization’s fundraising, outreach, and brand building efforts forward. The Digital Director partners with the heads of the Communications, Development, Legal and Brand and works with the Web Administrator to drive top of funnel interest and conversion. The Digital Director will also build a center of digital excellence in Marketing for digital strategy, defining scalable and prioritized systems and processes. 

Reporting to the Chief Communications Officer (CCO), the Digital Director will spearhead the creation of long and short-term digital communications plans for Lambda Legal’s digital properties and conduct market analysis on digital content

WHO WE ARE

Lambda Legal is a national organization committed to achieving full recognition of the civil rights of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender people and everyone living with HIV through impact litigation, education and public policy work. Since 1973, Lambda Legal has used impact litigation and other advocacy tools to decriminalize same-sex relationships; challenge discrimination against LGBTQ people and people living with HIV in the workplace, in the home, in schools, in health care, and in the military; and protect LGBTQ families, including by winning and defending marriage equality. Clients are not charged for legal representation or advocacy and Lambda Legal receives no government funding. Headquartered in New York City, Lambda Legal has regional offices in Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, and Washington, D.C.

• Establish and lead the digital communications strategy for the organization, both proactive and reactive

• Conceptualize and implement Lambda's approach to digital messaging and how it relates to the organization's overall communications strategy

• Ability to communicate digital strategy across teams and departments at Lambda Legal

• Create and enhance the direction and tone of digital content

• Analyze and optimize digital marketing; conduct and oversee A-B testing

• Bring a depth of experience leveraging search engine optimization and search engine marketing as it relates to content and digital strategy

• Set KPIs to measure digital outreach

• Manage and mentor direct reports while anticipating a growing a team

• Identify digital communications opportunities to amplify Lambda Legal's mission and initiatives, while also maintaining a successful and proactive digital strategy

TRAVEL

This position will require some occasional regional travel.

COVID STATEMENT

The health and well-being of our employees and their loved ones are of the utmost importance to us.  During the Pandemic, we have chosen to close our offices.  Our employees are all working from home, and only visit the office voluntarily, only if absolutely necessary.   We follow CDC and Department of Health guidelines to ensure the safety of employees who occasionally need to work from the office.   We have an employee task force that is continually evaluating and assessing when we can re-open.  At this time, we do not foresee re-opening our office in the next several months.

COMPENSATION

Salary and benefits will be competitive and commensurate with experience.  Competitive benefits package is provided, including medical, dental, life insurance, short and long-term disability insurance, employer contributions and match to 403(b)-retirement account, and substantial vacation.
