The largest campaign in the history of our movement

For 50 years, Lambda Legal has been at the forefront of the fight for LGBTQ+ rights. Today, we face an unprecedented wave of attacks on our hard-won progress. That’s why we launched Unstoppable Future: Our Campaign to Win Equality – which has successfully raised $285 million to expand our impact and secure justice for the generations to come.

A Comprehensive Strategy to Win

Since 2022, nearly 1,900 anti-LGBTQ+ bills were introduced in 50 states. Of those, 219 were enacted as law in 27 states. The Unstoppable Future campaign is Lambda Legal’s boldest effort yet:

Watch Lambda Legal CEO Kevin Jennings join MSNBC’s Weekends with Jonathan Capehart
to discuss the Unstoppable Future campaign and the state of LGBTQ+ rights in America.

There’s no going back. We must act NOW!

    Defending Against Anti-LGBTQ+ Attacks

Since 1973, Lambda Legal has been defending LGBTQ+ rights and everyone living with HIV in the courts, legislatures, and communities nationwide. Our victories have included overturning sodomy laws, combating anti-LGBTQ bullying in schools, securing marriage equality, and advancing the rights of transgender people and those living with HIV. But today those very freedoms are on the line. Our work is far from finished.

Will you help defend against hateful attacks on our rights?

    Winning New Protections

Even as we defend an unprecedented wave of anti-LGBTQ+ attacks, Lambda Legal is working proactively to win new legal protections and expand lived equality for the most vulnerable among us. We’re building bridges across movements to combat all forms of hate and bigotry. And we’re lighting the way to justice for all.

Will you help win new rights for the most vulnerable among us?

  • Preparing for the Future

Our opponents are well-resourced and unrelenting. To continue winning, we must urgently invest in growing our organizational capacity. The Unstoppable Future campaign will allow us to train the next generation of advocates and organizers and sustain our multidisciplinary approach combining litigation, education, and activism for maximum impact.

Will you help us become stronger tomorrow than we are today?

  • Securing Our Future

We know the struggle for equality will continue long beyond our lifetimes. That’s why planned giving is a critical part of the Unstoppable Future campaign. Through our Legacy Challenge, your future bequest can unlock an immediate matching grant to Lambda Legal today. It’s a powerful way to ensure your impact endures.

Will you ensure Lambda Legal is prepared for the multi-generational fight ahead?

OUR CASE FOR GROWTH

  • “I have supported Lambda Legal for nearly thirty years because I have benefitted from its work for justice, and because everyone does not yet share equally in those benefits. When my wife Kasz was dying, I took her to the emergency room, where I was accepted without question as her spouse, so when all hell broke loose, the ER physician took a quick medical history from me without pausing to look for someone else or ask where the “real family” was or proof of who I was. The time he saved by not doing any of that got him back to her quickly, and his quickness bought Kasz and me a day, and during that day, her sisters and two close friends got to the ER to say goodbye. The five minutes that bought us that last day took thirty years to get: thirty years of law and policy work and ongoing vigilance and responses when reality fell short of good laws and policies, and Lambda Legal and its volunteer Board members helped do that work.”

    Anne Krook

  • “As a transgender woman myself, I know how deeply these laws hurt. Our ordinary day-to-day activities are restricted or criminalized solely because we are trans, and we sometimes feel alone and discouraged. But we are not alone. I’m honored to stand with Lambda Legal as they wage the battle for LGBTQ+ equality during these precarious times. I’m grateful for their unrelenting advocacy in the courts and state capitals to safeguard the hard-won freedoms our community has secured through decades of perseverance.”

    Eileen Amy Ryan

  • “In order to secure the future of LGBTQ+ rights, we must continue carrying the torch forward now. Our community is under attack from individuals who want to roll back our protections. We cannot and will not let that happen. We hope Lambda Legal will continue thriving and securing additional protections for the LGBTQ+ community and everyone living with HIV.”

Bobby Campbell & J. Robert Garcia

  • “We live in troubling times. After years of positive momentum in the fight for LGBTQ+ equality, we are seeing our rights under attack as bad actors seek to roll back our rights for the sake of political expediency. We have to fight back in every arena—at the polls, in the media, and perhaps most crucially, in court, where there is no one better to have on our side than Lambda Legal. Investing in Lambda constitutes an investment in gender affirming healthcare, in sports equity, in economic justice for LGBTQ+ people. An investment in Lambda Legal is an investment in our future.”
