Protected and Served?
Thank you to all of you who filled out our survey. More than 3000 individuals and nearly 40 organizations filled out the survey. We greatly appreciate your willingness to share your experiences about the discrimination LGBT people and people living with HIV experience when dealing with police, school security, courts and the prison system.
Our survey is now closed and we are beginning to compile the data which will be looking at the following issues:
- police harassment, profiling, and mistreatment;
- police failure to protect and serve;
- misconduct in prisons, parole systems and courts; and
- school discipline and other school-to-prison pipeline Issues.
In the coming weeks and months we will post more information about Lambda Legal’s government misconduct work and the stories shared by some of the survey respondents. We will begin releasing survey findings in early 2013.
