JOAN HILTY
Joan Hilty is an editor at DC Comics. She is also a cartoonist and illustrator whose work has appeared in the Advocate, the Village Voice, Ms Magazine and numerous independent comics titles. Hilty is the creator of the weekly comic strip “Bitter Girl”, distributed by Q Syndicate.
MIKHAELA B. REID
Mikhaela B. Reid is a 26-year-old political cartoonist for Bay Windows (Boston's LGBT newspaper). Her work has also appeared in The Guardian (UK), The Los Angeles Times, The Boston Phoenix, Detroit's Metro Times, Women's eNews, Ms., Girlfriends, The Minnesota Women's Press, Inside Pride and other assorted fine publications.
In 2006, one of her cartoons was featured in the MOCCA art show "She Draws Comics: A Century of Women Cartoonists" and she was named one of Girls in Government's Real Hot 100 women. She is a member of the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists and a founding member of Cartoonists With Attitude.
Mikhaela was born and raised in Lowell, Massachusetts, where she attended Lowell High School and served as president of the Lowell High School Rainbow Connection Gay/Straight Alliance. She later went to Harvard University, where she studied social anthropology and photography and did weekly political cartoons for the Harvard Crimson.
PHIL JIMENEZ
Phil Jimenez is an openly gay comic book writer and artist best known for his work as writer/artist on Wonder Woman (2000-2003), Infinite Crisis (2005-2006) and his collaborations with writer Grant Morrison on The Invisibles and New X-Men. Born and raised in southern California, he moved to New York City to attend college at the School of Visual Arts. He began working at DC Comics when he was 21.
In 2004 he produced a creator-owned multi-genre limited series, Otherworld, which was published by DC Comics' Vertigo imprint.
He lives in New York City. His work has appeared in the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry, on album covers, and in editorial magazines. He has been featured in Entertainment Weekly, The Advocate,and Out magazines, and was one of Instinct Magazine's 2006 Men of the Year.

Sean Kennedy is the news features editor of The Advocate, and was previously a reporter at New York magazine and associate editor of HX. He’s written for a wide range of publications, including Salon, Time Out New York, Nerve.com, Men.style.com, Cargo, and Out.
