Benitez’s Opposition to the Writ of Petition filed by the North Coast Women’s Care Medical Group

This brief refutes assertions presented by the North Coast Women's Care Medical Group that the religious beliefs that motivated their refusal to offer fertility treatment to a lesbian are protected. While a doctor may object to performing a certain medical procedure, he cannot selectively discriminate who he will provide his services to based on protected personal characteristics such as sexual orientation.
