Treatment of Lesbian Couple at Catfish Derby Lands Lions Club a Warning from Lambda Legal

(Huntington, Oregon, July 16, 2009) — Lambda Legal has delivered a warning to Lions Club International charging that the treatment a lesbian couple received at a club-sponsored Oregon catfish derby violates state antidiscrimination laws.

Lambda Legal Applauds Proposed Rules Eliminating HIV Travel Restrictions

(New York, July 1, 2009) The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has announced it will issue proposed new rules that would lift the HIV travel and immigration ban by removing HIV from the list of communicable diseases of public health significance for immigrants to the United States.

(Atlanta, GA, June 26, 2009) The United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia today denied the Georgia General Assembly's motion to dismiss Lambda Legal's federal lawsuit on behalf of Vandy Beth Glenn, a transgender woman who was fired from her job as Legislative Editor after she told them she planned to transition from male to female.

Lambda Legal Calls for Swift Passage of Inclusive ENDA

(New York, June 24, 2009) — With the introduction of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) today, Lambda Legal issued the following statement from Kevin Cathcart, Executive Director of Lambda Legal:

Lambda Legal: Obama Administration Can Do More

"While ending any of the discrimination against gay and lesbian federal employees is a welcome step, today's planned announcement falls far short of our hopes and expectations.


"President Obama clearly understands how important it is for people to have health insurance coverage to protect their loved ones, and this plan does not provide that.

Lambda Legal Marks Anniversary of Marriage in California

Georgia Supreme Court Rejects Antigay Restriction in Custody Arrangement: Lambda Legal Applauds Opinion
