(Springfield, IL, January 17, 2008) — In papers to be filed today at the Illinois Supreme Court, Lambda Legal asked the state high court to compel the Chief Judge and the Circuit Court Clerk of the Twelfth Judicial Circuit in Will County, to follow proper court procedure so Daunn Turner, a low-income, disabled transgender woman, can continue the process to legally change her name.

(Annapolis, September 9, 2008) — In a one paragraph order issued today, the Maryland Court of Appeals ruled in favor of a challenge to a referendum that attempted to block a unanimously enacted transgender protection law.

Today Lambda Legal urged the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals to uphold a lower court ruling that the Georgia General Assembly discriminated against Vandy Beth Glenn, a transgender woman who was fired from her job as Legislative Editor after she told her supervisor that she planned to transition from male to female.
