(New York, Monday June 4, 2007) --- Lambda Legal announces today that Merrill Lynch, one of the world's leading financial management and advisory companies continues its support of Lambda Legal with a $100,000 gift.
"We have been working closely with Merrill Lynch since 2003 on our planned giving program, including financial education seminars for Lambda Legal members throughout the country, and they have underwritten numerous events for us over the years," said Kevin Cathcart, Executive Director of Lambda Legal. "We value our relationship with Merrill Lynch and their generous contribution of $100,000 will help us work toward equality for LGBT people and people with HIV."
Since the financial management and advisory company began its relationship with Lambda Legal in 2003, the company has increased its financial commitment to the organization in $25,000 increments each year. In addition to financial support and underwriting Lambda Legal fundraising events, the company has hosted educational life planning seminars for Lambda Legal members to discuss financial considerations specific to same-sex couples, helped manage the organization's planned giving program, and advised Lambda Legal members about charitable annuities.
