Lambda Legal's New Jersey Civil Union Clients Appear on New Jersey News Broadcast of the Civil Unions Review Commission

When the New Jersey legislature passed a civil union bill instead of giving same-sex couples the right to marry after Lambda Legal's groundbreaking court victory last year, we knew immediately that civil unions would not be enough. Today, the facts are more clear than ever.
In the first hearing before the New Jersey Civil Union Review Commission, Marriage Project Director David Buckel, also lead attorney on New Jersey's marriage equality lawsuit, testified that civil unions are falling short. Heather Aurand and couple Tom Walton and Mearmon Davis also testified in front of the commission.
