Lambda Legal Elects D.C. Attorney John R. Richards To Board of Directors

(Chicago, October 23, 2012) – Lambda Legal today announced that John Richards, a Washington D.C.- based attorney who is an associate at the law firm Morgan Lewis has been elected to its Board of Directors. Also joining the board is Tracey R. Wallace of Dallas, a partner in the Dallas-based law firm of Jackson Walker, LLP.

"Lambda Legal's board of directors is strengthened every time we add talented leaders like John Richards," said Lambda Legal Executive Director Kevin Cathcart. "John has demonstrated a commitment to equality for LGBT people and people living with HIV and we are delighted that he is bringing his energy to our Board."

Richards earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2006. The former Chicagoan, now living and practicing in Washington, D.C., has a history of accolades by publications such as  The American Lawyer, Chambers and The U.S. Legal 500 and was named one of the "40 Best LGBT Attorneys Under 40," by the National LGBT Bar Association in 2010. He is licensed to practice in the District of Columbia and Illinois and routinely advises financial services and retail employers on issues related to employee handbooks, employment policies, wage and hour compliance, litigation avoidance, and discovery management. Richards also has published multiple articles and papers on ERISA litigation topics, employment law, and LGBT diversity issues.
