The New York City-based AVP ( or 212-714-1141) works to empower lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and HIV-affected communities and allies to end all forms of violence through organizing and education, and supports survivors through counseling and advocacy.   The National Coalition of Anti-Violence Projects (NCAVP)

The Trevor Project provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to LGBTQ youth (866-488-7386 and 1-800-suicide (800-784-2433), a round-the-clock hotline serves the general population.
