Lambda Legal Helps Georgia Same-Sex Couples Take Stand for Marriage

Lambda Legal will help same-sex couples who are taking part in a public demonstration in Georgia today about the freedom to marry.
Lesbian and gay couples in Decatur, Ga., will request—and be denied—marriage licenses, in order to highlight the harms of discriminatory state laws and to call for full equality under federal law.
It’s part of the WE DO Campaign, a grassroots effort launched in 2011 by the Campaign for Southern Equality. Beth Littrell, Staff Attorney at Lambda Legal’s Southern Regional Office in Atlanta, will serve as a legal observer.
