These are our children, Ava and Jaidon, and this is my mother, Barbara Volpe. Mercedes’s parents, Larry and Florence Santos are also here, along with several of our close family friends.

July 17, 2009 — Lambda Legal and the Gay and Lesbian Medical Association submitted comments to The Joint Commission, the nation’s largest medical provider accreditation agency, offering empirical and legal support for standards proposed by The Joint Commission to require culturally competent medical care for LGBT people.
