12:00pm - 3:00pm
CONNECTICUT CARES is Lambda Legal's premier fashion-forward fundraiser for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) and HIV equality in the state of Connecticut. This year’s event will highlight the Next Frontier of LGBT Rights. Even with the recent victories for equality, there is enforcement that needs to happen to make sure that LGBT people and those with HIV are treated fairly and well, even in states like Connecticut.
FEATURING: JULIA FROST
Lambda Legal's plaintiff from Hesperia, California. Julia is a lesbian teacher who was fired from her job when she stood up to school officials for herself and her students against anti-LGBT discrimination in school.
FEATURING: KEVIN CATHCART
Lambda Legal’s Executive Director will provide an update from Lambda Legal cases and progress across the U.S.
There is still a lot of work to do for LGBT equality, and we must continue to show that Connecticut Cares!
