Marriage Begins in Maine
by Lambda Legal
December 28, 2012
Tomorrow, Maine will become the 8th state to grant same-sex couples the freedom to marry – congratulations and well wishes to all of the happy couples and their families who have waited so long.
In commemoration of this historic day, Camilla Taylor, Marriage Project Director for Lambda Legal released the following statement:
"Days like [this] bring home the joy of being part of a family. To celebrate your loving, committed relationship in the presence of your children, friends and family is a cherished moment, and to do so with the recognition and respect of your home state’s government means even more. We congratulate all the loving couples in Maine who are finally able to marry.”
