The Court Cases that Changed Our World

For its 45th anniversary, The Advocate has listed the biggest court victories in the fight for LGBT equality. Some of Lambda Legal's most important cases are on the list, including:

• Lawrence v. Texas, which overturned all remaining state sodomy laws in the United States. Many consider it the most significant LGBT rights breakthrough of our time.
• In re Guardianship of Sharon Kowalski, in which a woman fought for eight years to bring her life partner home after a tragic car accident.
