Mark A. Gasparini is the Chief Financial Officer for Lambda Legal, the oldest and largest national legal organization committed to achieving full recognition of the civil rights of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender people and people with HIV.
Gasparini's responsibilities include oversight of the finance/accounting and database areas at Lambda Legal. Since joining Lambda Legal in 2000, he has instituted a new budgeting process, improved the financial reporting and further strengthened internal policies and procedures, which has resulted in timelier internal and extrenal financial reporting. Under his direction, Lambda Legal has advanced its database capabilities, providing better information for fundraising purposes.
Gasparini has been a finance professional for almost 20 years. He has held senior positions at both not-for-profit and commercial corporations. Before joining Lambda Legal in 2000 he was the controller at Gay Men's Health Crisis, the model for HIV/AIDS service organizations internationally. Prior to working with GMHC, he was the accounting manager at the Metropolitan Transportation Authority of New York, the largest provider of public transportation in the Western Hemisphere. Before that, he was the southern accounting manager for a national telecommunications company owned by Ameritech of Chicago.
