Judith Pfenninger is the Chief Financial Officer of Lambda Legal, the oldest and largest national legal organization committed to achieving full recognition of the civil rights of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender people and people with HIV.
As the CFO, Pfenninger is responsible for all aspects of Lambda Legal’s accounting, treasury and budgeting functions, and supervises all finance and database management staff. Pfenninger brings over 25 years of public, private and nonprofit accounting experience to Lambda Legal. Previous positions include eight years as the CFO of SL Start, a diversified human and health services company which provides a wide variety of social, employment and long term care services; eight years as a self-employed consultant in the areas of internal control and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance; and public accounting and consulting experience with both PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Grant Thornton.
She holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BS Honors from Loyola University of Chicago.
Pfenninger has served on the Board of Directors of several nonprofit organizations over the years, including Habitat for Humanity-Spokane, where she served as Treasurer and Director of the Finance Committee, and the Madison Opportunity Center, an agency which provided employment services to the developmentally disabled in Wisconsin.
