Christopher Bellis

Christopher Bellis is the Deputy Director of Development for Lambda Legal, the oldest and largest national legal organization committed to achieving full recognition of the civil rights of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender people and people with HIV.
Bellis works with the Director of Development to generate revenue for the organization through various forms of philanthropy including but not limited to individual, workplace and planned giving. His primary focus is to aid Lambda Legal's efforts to reach out to major donors and planned giving donors who make it possible for Lambda Legal to be the largest and most effective LGBT legal organization in the country. Bellis works to create partnerships with individuals who can give their time, services or financial resources to make Lambda Legal's mission successful.
Prior to joining Lambda Legal, Bellis was Endowment Campaign Manager at Lighthouse International (an organization whose mission is to help people overcome the challenges of vision loss). In addition, Christopher has held positions at Hunter College, Lycee Francais de New York, Jewish Guild for the Blind and Third Street Music School Settlement.
Bellis obtained a B.A. in International Relations and Theater at The College of William and Mary in Virginia and an M.F.A. in Theater from the Catholic University of America. Bellis continues to work in off-off broadway theater in New York. He has been with his partner, Eddie Bennett, for more than 11 years and they look forward to fostering their first child later this year.
