Temporary Web & Print Designer

Lambda Legal is a national organization committed to achieving full recognition of the civil rights of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender people and people with HIV through impact litigation, education and public policy work. Headquartered in New York, Lambda Legal has regional offices in Chicago, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Dallas 

We are seeking a full time in-house designer for 3-5 months. This is a temporary position, without benefits.

Must be proficient in InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator, and should be comfortable working cross-platform (Mac and Windows OS). Should know light HTML (including working with forms). Knowledge of CSS is a plus. Should be familiar with eCRM systems (GetActive or Convio experience preferred) and web content management systems.

Responsibilities

Web Design

  • Work in the website CMS (content management system) and eCRM (electronic Customer Relationship Management) ensuring cross-platform, visually consistent content that meets branding and marketing goals.
  • Create icons and other visuals for web pages, e-newsletters, advocacy and fundraising campaigns, and the various sections and documents on the web site.
  • Design animated web ads of multiple sizes for a variety of audiences and placements.
  • Be comfortable producing ads, icons and other design work on short timelines.

Print Production and Design

  • Design (or secure and manage designers for) visual materials including brochures, tool kits, fact sheets, etc.
  • Design promotional materials for events (T-shirts, water bottles, pens, etc.).
  • Design print and online ads.
  • Update (and create, as necessary) all corporate identity materials, such as letterhead, business cards, envelopes, etc.
  • Research and obtain photos, artwork and illustrations to be use in publications.
