Jobs: PT Freelance Graphic Designer

Lambda Legal is a national organization committed to achieving full recognition of the civil rights of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender people and those with HIV through impact litigation, education, and public policy work. 

Lambda Legal is seeking a talented and self-motivated graphic designer to help develop our promotional and educational materials, as well as website and social media graphics. Applicants should be detail oriented and able to complete tasks within deadlines, responsive to precise feedback and able to quickly produce results. The designer will work closely with a small, energetic team. Day-to-day responsibilities will vary depending on the projects, so some flexibility and ability to efficiently manage multiple projects at once are a must.  

Must have a strong portfolio, illustrating a strong grasp of typography, layout and illustration. Superb communication and problem-solving skills also a must. A general understanding of branding is essential: work within - but also provide a fresh take on - preexisting Brand Identity Standards 

Responsibilities: 

• Design for digital marketing promotions. Work on campaigns and design optimized visual content for social media and website (infographic design experience a plus!)
• Design print materials, including invitations and events collateral.
• Research and propose strategies for better presentation and expansion of educational material, with a focus on interactivity and social media.
• Research non-profit publications, websites and social media sites. 

Qualifications: 

• Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop,  Illustrator
• Pre-press and post-production experience necessary
• Ability to work in team setting as well as independently
• Candidate must be detail-oriented and well-organized

Additional Information:

• 2 to 3 days per week.
• Position open until filled.
